Dryades Market, the up and coming Central City market that recently replaced never-launched money pit Jack & Jake's Public Market, has been gaining momentum since chef Dan Esses took over the project in late 2015.   Now some big news:  Esses tells Eater that Curious Oyster Co. has just signed the lease to run the oyster bar in the market. Proprietor Melissa Martin (who also runs the Mosquito Supper Club) will launch the oyster bar tomorrow afternoon, likely at noon.  A beer and wine bar will also open inside the market as of tomorrow as well, with craft cocktails coming soon.

Curious Oyster Co. recently departed St. Roch Market (with Elysian Seafood taking over the oyster bar there), and joins a slew of new hires that will be imperative to the market's development: Local forage pro Keenan McDonald is running the produce and wholesale business.  Former Grand Isle chef Mark Falgoust will oversee the prepared foods department, and butcher LeighAnn Smith will be in charge of the meat counter. More plans call for a wine room, juice counter, a tapas area, and outdoor events. Check out the space in the gallery below.

Update:  Eater previously reported that Effie Michot was also a proprietor of Curious Oyster Co., but Michot is no longer involved in the operation.
