More on the recently-announced upcoming Creole House taking over a former Arby's at 509 Canal. The spot will not only be a casual, "tourist-friendly" Creole restaurant, Todd Price reports today, but also an oyster bar from none other than the brothers Ammari empire Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts. Creole House will be one of the empire's more casual touristy spots a la Cafe Maspero, but it won't be its only expansion planned for 2015. The group—which counts Broussard's and Kingfish among its many holdings— is also behind Boulevard American Bistro, a new concept heading to the former Houston's on Vets this winter as well.

Alicia Serrano reports that CC's Coffee House is hoping to open a drive-through location at 2323 Canal (currently a used car lot) near the impending Medical District, and appears to have the support of neighbors: "The CC's will include a drive thru window, 10 parking spaces for customers with planned operation hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday."

Elsewhere in expansion land, Ian McNulty reports that Lafayette-based fave Tsunami Sushi will be opening in the CBD in 2016 at the Pan American Life Center (601 Poydras). Partners Michelle and Sean Ezzell, Toon Nguyen, and Fred Nonato will bring a "dedicated sushi bar, full dining room and bar," outdoor patio seating and potential private tatami rooms to what used to be a ground floor conference room. This will be Tsunami's fourth location (with locations in Baton Rouge and Charenton), and will feature the same "extensive" menu as the others.
