Slow-and-low barbecue fave NOLA Smokehouse will close for good this weekend, October 3, Ian McNulty reports today. Pitmaster Rob Bechtold's brick and mortar has been a critically-acclaimed fixture on Jackson Avenue in the LGD since opening in 2014, and a busy one at that. Sadly, the reason the spot will be closing is due to a "serious illness in the family." This week the shop will be open Wednesday to Saturday, September 30-October 3, at 11:30 a.m. until sold out.
