A new food truck specializing in wings Taylor Made Wings On The Geaux, has just hit the streets, Todd Price reports this week. Owner Ashton Ruffins, a former soldier and cop, offers over a dozen variations of fried and smoked wings in specialty sauces. The truck itself is named for Ruffins' daughter, Taylor, and most of the wings have backstories and names that are nods to his family.
Price suggests ordering the "killer" smoked wings, rather than the fried variation. All wings are in the $5-$10 range, and sauces range from a seven-pepper Buffalo sauce to a sweet whiskey-based Hawaiian barbecue sauce. The menu also has garlic fries, spinach and crab pasta, and more. Look for Taylor Made around the Tulane medical corridor during lunch, and also at Courtyard Brewery and the Daiquiri Lounge. Schedules on Facebook and Twitter.
