Freret Street's knuckle sandwich and booze hub Wayfare has just expanded its brunch offerings with a new menu, now available on weekends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  New items like quiche, bread pudding and pain perdu join the mix of brunch specialties, from a chicken biscuit to eggy classics, all in the $6 to $14 range, with $8 Bloody Marys and $5 mimosas all day.

Update: Willa Jean happy hour launches on September 21. In the South Market District, Besh Group's shiny, new Southern bakery and cafe Willa Jean will launch on September 21  a happy hour that specializes in 'pies and thighs,' meaning $5 specialty sweet hand pies and $5 fried chicken thighs with tobasco honey (2 per order) every weekday from 3 to 6 p.m. And like all good Besh restaurant happy hours, this one features half off all cocktails, wine (by the galss) and beer.

Meanwhile, the French Quarter's Southern stunner Angeline will debuts its new fall menu this Thursday, September 17. Plus, the debut of new fall desserts including an heirloom apple and smoked mascarpone cheese strudel.
