Susan Spicer Eyes Edge of Mid City For Potential New Restaurant

Plus, Oz is geting a makeover, and Saints specials for the weekend.

MID CITY/LAKEVIEW— A former police station on the edge of Lakeview and Mid City (801 Rosedale Dr.) near Delgado may become Susan Spicer's next restaurant, Alicia Serrano reports. The CPC has approved the project—and rescinded a conditional use permit to allow the spot to become a restaurant—but neighbors seem relatively opposed to the plans, with concerns over parking.  Todd Price confirms that Susan Spicer is involved, though the property was purchased at auction by Kevin Centanni. QUARTER— Oz will be undergoing renovations in the coming months to bring it back as the 'premier club in the city', according to new management 800 Enterprises LLC, who also run The Swamp and Bourbon Cowboy. IRISH CHANNEL— Arana has a slew of game day specials this Sunday, starting at 3 p.m., including smoked chicken wings with achiote chili-glaze and ranch going $8/6 wings or $14/12 wings, half-price domestic beer buckets and draft beers. A [Eaterwire]

QUARTER— For an upscale Saints game, Galatoire's 33 is throwing down with a pre-kickoff happy hour (it starts half an hour before all noon, 3 p.m. and night games) with $3 drafts, $5 select cocktails and wines by the glass. GARDEN DISTRICT— Judy Walker reports that Commander's Palace chef Tory McPhail has debuted a new line of sauces, which will soon be available in Rouses. They include a Cilantro, Lime and Sea Salt Sauce; Coconut, Key Lime and Curry Sauce; and Pineapple, Ginger and Cayenne Sauce with more in the works. [NOLA.com]
