World of Beer's second Louisiana location—the first location opened on Vets in Metairie last December— is opening today on Julia Street in the Warehouse District, where patrons have a huge array of beer options to choose from to enjoy inside the former molasses factory.
The interior pays homage to the building's former life, and utilizes reclaimed wood and brick. In another throwback to the location's history, Bayou Teche Brewing also collaborated with the bar/restaurant to serve an exclusive beer brewed with molasses and aged in whiskey barrels. The beer will be served on cask, and other ingredients include chicory, coffee, marshmallow root, and cocoa nibs.
Also on tap to celebrate the opening is NOLA Brewing's brown ale served through World of Beer's infuser, which will infuse the beer with toasted coconut and vanilla beans. There will also be 40 rotating beers on draft as well as a cellar of 500 bottles and cans of beer. All World of Beer servers are required to take thirty hours of training in order to understand different styles of beer, through the corporation's internal education program.
Open seven days a week, World of Beer's hours will be 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
