Mark Latter, the owner of Quarter icon Tujague's and Garden District wineshop Bin 428, will open an upscale wine bar and eatery on Freret in 2016, Ian McNulty reports this week. Latter and biz partner P.J. Rosenberg (a Martin Wine Cellar and Uncorked alum) will bring quality wines by the glass and bottle to Bar Frances, which is named for Rosenberg's grandmother.
The 1850-square-foot bar will be located in the upcoming mixed-used development at 4525 Freret and will also offer craft drinks, a rotating beer selection and lighter bar eats like crudo and salads. There will also be a covered patio. No chef has been named at this time.
