The owners of a popular Mexican restaurant in Atlanta are setting their sights on NOLA. Todd Price reports that The Standard will open mid-summer "on Magazine Street near Napoleon Avenue"; it takes over the space most recently occupied by the short-lived Asian fusion restaurant Hibiscus. The neighborhood-oriented spot will showcase weekend brunch and serve "sandwiches, salads, crab cakes, grits and grillades, and Eggs Benedict."

Ali Wild and Lana Banks opened Across the Street in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward back in 2007; it's known for margaritas and plenty of vegetarian options, as well a quirky habit of transforming into a totally different restaurant concept every April Fool's Day. The duo reportedly plans to split their time between the two cities, "making sure one of them always is at the New Orleans restaurant."
