Faubourg St. John is getting a new diner Bayou Breakfast this summer, Ian McNulty reports. The restaurant will be housed in the former De Blanc Pharmacy building that housed shortlived soy-yogurt chain Tutti Frutti back in 2013 (at 311 Grand Route St. John, next to The Half Shell):
The new restaurant will include a diner counter and table service... breakfast and lunch and weekend brunch to begin, with a breakfast-all-day menu, and eventually... dinner.
No word on if there will be booze or not. Owners Derek Villavaso and wife Idolka Villavaso—they also operate music venue Vaso on Frenchmen—will open a juice bar, Joose Heaven, in the Warehouse District in August as well.
