New Orleans, ready yourself for Oktoberfest all year long. Ian McNulty brings the news that Tchoupitoulas Beer Garden is going to open in August with a 4,400 square foot indoor beer garden to pay homage to traditional German beer gardens that have existed for hundreds of years.
There will be two bars for acquiring beer and a kitchen serving German food like sausages, pretzels, and the like. Patrons will sit at long communal tables (again, a traditional German thing) and have the option to pay for beers with pre-purchased tokens. There will also be glames like ping pong and foosball as well as boilermakers to go along with the beer and bourbon selections.
When the Tchopitoulas Beer Garden opens, the planned hours of operation will be 3pm-11pm, Monday-Thursday and 11am-1am on Fridays and Saturdays. So brush up on the chicken dance and dust off your leiderhosen.
