James Cullen IN at Press St. Station; Steve Manning OUT at Annunciation

Treo alum James Cullen steps into NOCCA's hot spot, and Annunciation parts ways with its founding chef.

Chef James Cullen, who most recently ran the kitchen at Mid City cocktail lounge Treo, has stepped in at NOCCA's casual all-day hot spot Press Street Station (along with running The Boxcar food truck too), Todd Price reports. Cullen has already created a new menu with "sweet potato brioche pain perdu, a fried green tomato BLT and mussels in a New Orleans-style barbecue shrimp sauce" and he plans to bring Friday night pop ups to the restaurant as well. Dinner will launch in July, and there is now also table service and all-day brunch menu.

Steve Manning, founding chef and partner of contemporary Creole beauty Annunciation is reportedly in the process of leaving the Warehouse District restaurant. Price reports that the split is "amicable," and that Manning has actually been out of the kitchen since May, though he's still helping the restaurant out until he leaves.

Manning is known for his days at Uptown neighborhood icon Clancy's, where he created the famous fried oysters and brie among other classic dishes.  No word on his future plans—or replacement at Annunciation—but he does intend to stay in New Orleans.
