Boucherie's highly-anticipated wing and daiq hotspot Bourrée is finally opening today at noon in the former Boucherie location (8115 Jeannette St.) in the Riverbend, Todd Price reports. The opening was held up this year by a long wait for a state business and sales tax certificate. Strangely enough, chef Nathaniel Zimet and partner James Denio have already announced plans to move the new restaurant over to the soon-to-shutter Cafe Nino location along with a Cajun meat market this summer. Boucherie will remain in its new space (the former Cafe Grenada), and 8115 Jeannette location will then be used for Boucherie's private events/catering.
Until then, here's what to expect at the temporary Bourrée location: three daiquiris including gin and tonic and hurricane variations, 3 or 4 types of wings, six taps with local beers, and small plates with promises of Polynesian flare to come. Hours: Tuesday-Sunday, noon to midnight.
