A customer at French Quarter cafe Huck Finn's received a receipt with a racial slur that her server deliberately print onto it yesterday afternoon, May 21, WDSU reports. A friend of the customer then posted the receipt—with the printed "N----- 100% Dislike"— to Twitter and Facebook, where it's been shared over 400 times.
The server has been fired and Huck Finn's management has issued a statement via Facebook and official website saying they are shocked and appalled by the server's actions, but that they don't represent that of the restaurant. The management also shockingly apologizes for any "inconvenience" the hate crime has caused:
The unfortunate actions of this one employee do not mirror the mission of Huck Finn's Cafe's firm non-discrimination policy, and we are extremely apologetic for any inconvenience this may have caused.
The customer is reportedly seeking legal counsel.
