Extremely Fancy Waffle House With 'Bistro Courtyard' Planned for Mid City

The 'fanciest Waffle House you will ever see' will be located one block from pancake icon Betsy's on Canal.

The 'fanciest Waffle House you will ever see' (according to a Waffle House real estate exec) is likely heading to a vacant, former used car lot at 2500 Canal (at Rocheblave), both a block from iconic diner Betsy's Pancake House and the upcoming hospital.  Alicia Serrano reports that The City Planning staff has recommended plans for the chain location, which will feature 'New Orleansish' vibes.

The zoning board put the kibosh on Waffle House's request for a 5 foot front yard, instead of a standard 20 foot yard depth, but folks can still get a taste of the great outdoors thanks to the location's planned 'bistro courtyard area," which will no doubt offer the finest smothered and covered action when the humidity and mosquito-swarms descend upon thy tuna melt come high noon.
