Sneak A Peek Inside Willa Jean At Its Upcoming Bake Sale, April 17

Willa Jean, the hotly-anticipated upcoming Besh Group bakery from pastry chefs Kelly Fields and Lisa White, will host a bake sale outside its location (611 O'Keefe) on April 17, Judy Walker reports this week.  This will be everyone's first chance to get  a look at the still "raw" space inside The Paramount before it opens this summer in the budding South Market District. Upcoming hotness Ursa Major, Company Burger, and and Magasin Kitchen will also join the bakery this summer, and a new Cali-based pizzeria Blaze opens in The Paramount next Thursday (and is offering free pizza the same as the bake sale from 10:30 a.m. to midnight for folks who befriend Blaze on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, so yeah, free pizza before dessert, y'all.)

As for the bake sale, the money raised from the goodies will benefit John Besh Foundation on sale from. Pastry bloggers Joy the Baker, Glazed and Confused, and bellannee, as wells as from Chef's Move! scholarship winner Kieu Tran will all be slinging sweet stuff, and there will be this top notch razzle dazzle:

Fields will offer Willa Jean Cookies, Banana Bread and Krispie treats. White will bake ciabatta, braided challahs and dinner rolls.

When Willa Jean opens this summer, Walker reports: "Fields will direct the menu, the savory side and desserts, and White will prepare breads."
