Ruth's Chris Still Dead To Many New Orleanians; How To Rat Out Smokers

NOLA— On the cusp of his ultimate steak guide, Times-Pic critic Brett Anderson asks his readers if they still hate Ruth's Chris for permanently relocating their headquarters to Orlando in the wake of Katrina, and the answer appears to be a resounding yes. The Fertel family, whose matriarch Ruth launched the original steakhouse on Broad St. in 1965, sold their stake in 1999 and had no part in the move. []

NOLA— With the smoking ban coming to every bar near you in TWO WEEKS, the city has just released a primer for those wondering how to rat out smokers: "People can file complaints against businesses ignoring the new smoking ban by filling out a complaint form or calling the city's non-emergency 311 hotline." []
