Jims Shutters In The Bywater

The sandwich shop's last day is today, and We've Got Soul will pop up in the space on Friday for the last time.

Bywater sandwich hub Jims, located at 3000 Royal, is set to shutter tomorrow.  An Eater tipster writes in that the restaurant has been 'forced to close down,' and while details are unknown, a call to the restaurant confirms that indeed today is its last day open.

We've Got Soul, the downhome soul food pop up from chef Tres Barnard that takes over Jim's every Friday night, will also host its last dinner there this Friday, April 17. Barnard is actively looking for a new spot to pop up at, so do send suggestions his way if you have them.  Here's the menu for Friday.

UPDATE 4/17: Owner of the building Nahum Laventhal tells Eater that Jims has not been 'forced to close down,' stating , "He [James Renier] and I were parties to a lease which was expiring. We had a negotiation. We reached an agreement. He agreed to vacate, and I agreed not to enforce an early termination clause in his lease."
