Sucre's Joel Dondis and Tariq Hanna have officially opened their French Quarter masterpiece Salon By Sucre, Todd Price reports. The new hotspot not only brings a signature bottom-floor sweets emporium to Vieux Carre sugar fiends—complete with the Ferrari of third wave coffee makers, a Modbar—but upstairs the gorgeous hidden gem of a restaurant will revolutionize the pastry dining experience with tea service, lunch and dinner as seen through the eyes of a pastry chef.

The menu features everything from microburgers that fit on your thumb, to elegant preparations of duck, lobster fettucine and a killer beet salad. The tea menu is undoubtedly the best in the city. Behold the marigold tea, which essentially blooms before your very eyes.

And if you're wondering if the dessert game is on point, behold the magnificence of the Mille Feuille, which would no doubt have Shuggie Otis on his knees writing strawberry letters 24 and 25.

Here's the opening menu, including cocktails from Beth McCaskey, formerly of Union Square Cafe in New York City. The FOH is also managed by fellow Union Square Cafe alum Braithe Tidwell. Salon will roll out tea service and lunch in a couple weeks, but for now it's strictly dinner.
