Self-proclaimed hot dog guy Skip Murray is now officially a hamburger guy, Ian McNulty reports, as the Dat Dog cofounder has sold all of his shares in the weenie empire to his founding partner Constantine Georges. Murray will now focus on his new burger venture Dis & Dem full time. Dis & Dem opened as Dis & Dat in Mid City in September 2014, featuring burgers alongside Dat Dog's signature weenies, but now the weenies are OUT along with all things 'Dat' oriented "per an agreement between Murray and Dat Dog."
Dis & Dem will focus on burgers and sliders from now on, and Murray is considering plans to expand in the future. A second location is reportedly opening from new wners/operators Michael and Lori Petitto in Lakeview this spring. Until then, he's focused on the impending momentum of the upcoming medical corridor and also getting back to his "grassroots" operations. Currently, there's a breakfast pop up at Dis & Dem every Tuesday to Sunday from Colin Provensal, a Dat Dog alum, featuring "breakfast sandwiches, omelets and hash dishes" too. Website and menu here.
