Tom Fitzmorris Gets Transmogrified At Felix's

That's "feh-LEEX" for the oldtimers.

Facebook

This week Tom Fitzmorris reviews the French Quarter home of exceptional oysters and 'marginal' service Felix's: "If you're a New Orleans old-timer, you pronounce the name "feh-LEEX.' And you know that the place has been around at least as long as you have (since 1935)."  Ancient calamari sage T-Fitz also knows the truth— "oysters are what you come for." Still, essential dishes include the Fried Crab Fingers, which will suffice for the lack of squid foodstuffs on the  menu this week. +1 hipness points, because the restaurant actually doubles as "a predictor of the oyster-eater's age."  Prediction: Oyster eater walked the dinosaur, but forgot the STAR rating again this week. [CityBusiness, sub req]
