New father and head critic at TheTimes-Pic Brett Anderson has finally returned from a nine week hiatus and is back with a top ten list of the best dishes he's tried so far this year.  Pizza, po' boys, a burger, and more rib-sticking sinful eats comprise the list, showcasing more casual restaurants than upscale.  Here now, are the 10 best things Anderson has had in 2015:

  • Baked Apple at Brennan's
  • Crawfish ettoufee at Liuzza's
  • Drink of Laughter and Forgetting at Cellardoor: "The drink is included here, in a column about eating, for having achieved the kind of balance I admire in creative cooking, and for so successfully drawing out the refreshing qualities of Cynar."
  • Green Chile Cheeseburger at Atomic Burger
  • Kung Pao Pastrami at Red's Chinese
  • Margherita Pizza at both Dolce Vita and Wood: "Both offer convincing evidence that excellent pizza is becoming another thing New Orleanians can take for granted."
  • Oysters on the Halfshell at Pascal's Manale
  • Oysters Rockefeller Soup at Clancy's
  • Rum Cake at Pagoda Cafe: "You can taste the booze."
  • Shrimp Po' Boy at Guy's
