While both HiVolt at P's & Q's and District Hand Pie & Coffee have ushered in the New Orleans' pie and coffee revolution this new year, today Judy Walker reports that team pie (and coffee) may have another reason to rejoice with the pastry masterminds behind Windowsill Pies, Marielle Dupre and Nicole Eiden, also planning a shop:

They are steadily advancing toward their goal of a warm European-style pie and coffee shop for all ages, selling savory and sweet pies, a glass of wine, beer on tap.

No further details on location or a potential opening date are given. Dupre, a former asst. pastry chef at Bayona, and Edien met years back while working at Mat & Naddie's, and both continue to hold down service jobs (at High Hat and Del Fuego respectively) while cranking out their popular seasonal desserts at a commercial kitchen off Tchoupitoulas. You can find their hand pies at Wholefoods, hand pies/regular pies on Good Eggs, and at more spots in town including Avenue Cafe and Church Alley Coffee Shop.
