Sarah Baird Is Leaving Her Post as Gambit's Food Critic

Sad times for the New Orleans food scene, with Sarah Baird, Gambit's resident food critic for the past year, announcing her departure via Twitter this week.  Baird alludes to an exciting new job on the horizon, but no details have been announced yet.  Baird, who took over after Scott Gold's brief stint as reviewer at Gambit, is also the author of Kentucky Sweets and her writing has appeared in numerous publications including The Atlantic and very recently on Eater National.

Now let us all scour our closets for black turtlenecks and other unbecoming mourning clothes because the food critics in town are essentially down to former longtime Gambit reviewer turned Advocate critic Ian McNulty and City Business' calamari king T-Fitz (you may recall that Times-Pic head beanie baby Brett Anderson is currently on leave).
