This is a sad one. Todd Price reports that Magazine Street's wing, po boy, and fast food emporium Danny's No. 2 has shuttered for good. Danny's No. 2 was "a holdover of grittiness" for the Uptown area, and an awful first date destination when combined with the nearby laundromat and Brother's Three. The Times-Pic takes a jab at encroaching upscale Magazine Street trends with a poll, asking readers what type of business will likely take over the space on the "increasingly glamorous" strip: a Vietnamese, grilled cheese or doughnut shop, a Dat Dog, or a local shirt store. Write-ins include an Antoine's Uptown takeout, Cafe du Monde, Bud's Broiler, and "some expensive small plates bs."
