In case you haven't heard, St. Lucia native and Miami-based Top Chef: Season 11 runner up Nina Compton is moving to town to open her first restaurant this year and fans are rejoicing. While rumor has it the celeb chef is likely heading to the Warehouse District, she still hasn't confirmed the location or name of her upcoming first restaurant, which is set to open in 2015. Today, Todd Price does reveal a little bit more information. Compton tells him that the restaurant will be fun and "more like a gastropub." Per Price:
The food will reflect her Caribbean heritage, but also the Italian food she cooked at Scarpetta and the French cuisine she studied in culinary school.
Compton also admits moving to New Orleans is "a little intimidating," noting that "Every corner you take there is history. And I love the way the people love food."
