HiVolt Bakery is heading to 5720 Magazine in early 2016. The location currently houses third wave fave HiVolt 2 Coffee alongside pie operation P's & Q's, which will sadly be calling it quits after the end of the year. HiVolt 2 Coffee has shut down its counter at the location for the time being to make way for P's & Q's holiday pie onslaught and will reopen its new concept in February.
Owner Benji Lee tells Eater that the bakery will be overseen by Liz Hollinger— a Le Cordon Bleu grad and current HiVolt general manager— who will expand the pastry options already available at Hivolt 1 (in the LGD) and HiVolt 2, including the addition of pies and quiches in honor of P's and Q's. HiVolt is known for their vegan and gluten-free eats, including donuts, raw brownies and more.
Light renovations will also take place while the spot is closed for a month or so in early 2015—primarily to open up the front room.
