If you're planning to be out and about for New Years Eve, it's best to think ahead. But this being New Orleans, celebrations of other kinds may have distracted plan making - so here are a few options still available (for now - but act fast!)

The Windsor Court Hotel is hosting dinner, live entertainment, and a champagne toast at midnight. The Grill Room will have a four course prix fixe (including dishes like butter poached Maine lobster,) while the Cocktail Bar will be serving up a black tie dessert buffet and open bar from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., and the Polo Club Lounge will have chanteuse Robin Barnes performing all night. Reservations required. [Eaterwire]

Compere Lapin will be exclusively serving a special 5-course prix fixe menu for $120 with including hamachi tartar, grilled octopus, scallops with broccoli puree and lobster jus, roasted sirloin and more. Seatings still available for parties from 2 to 6 people between  6:30 and 10 p.m. [Eaterwire]

Emeril's New Orleans, NOLA, and Emeril's Delmonico are all offering a variety of special a la carte items on New Years Eve from 5-11 p.m., and will be open on New Years Day for upscale recovery. [Eaterwire]

Casa Borrega is hosting a performance by the Iguanas and serving tequila cocktails and tapas (in lieu of its regular menu) from 9 p.m. - 1 a.m.  No reservations. (Check them out the following day for Mexican hangover helper brunch items like menudo and pozole.) [NOLA.com]

Angeline, Barrel Proof, Meauxbar and Sylvain will all be open regular hours and serving their regular menus on New Years Eve. [Eaterwire]

GW Fins is serving a three course prix fixe menu for $85 on NYE, with dish options like blue crab pot stickers, rack of lamb, crab stuffed Maine lobster, and "Salty Malty" ice cream pie. [Eaterwire]

Salu Bistro and Bar is offering a six course prix fixe menu starting with lamb arancini as an amuse, followed by four onion soup, raw kale salad with satsuma vinaigrette, cured foie gras, and then a choice of entree between prime rib with Yorkshire pudding or pan seared scallop Hoppin' John, and finished with chocolate stuffed beignets. All items are available a la carte. [Eaterwire]

If you're more interested in music than food, check out Le Petit Theater's NYE show featuring David Torkanowsky and the New Orleans All Stars. The show ends just before the fireworks display in the Quarter over the Mississippi. Tickets are $35. [Eaterwire]

The Gambit put together a great list of parties and events happening all over the city, like the House of Blues' New Years Eve Supper Club Extravaganza, NYE at St. Roch Market, CellarDoor's NYE party, and the Big Night New Orleans New Year's Eve Extravaganza at the Hyatt Regency. [Gambit]

Also, according to Open Table, Brown Butter Southern Kitchen and Bar, Primitivo, Purloo, Toups Meatery, and Sac-A-Lait (among others) all have reservations available. [Open Table]
