MID CITY— A new take-out spot Noodles Xpress has just opened on Tulane Avenue, specializing in soul food, Creole, Chinese and Vietnamese as well as breakfast. Status: Certified open at 2800 Tulane Ave, Mon-Fri 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sat, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (504) 827-2851. [Gambit]

SEVENTH WARD— Pirogues, a new pub and eatery from Doris Metropolitan/Rambla alum Albert Silvera is now open at the corner of Bayou Road and Broad.   The menu includes paninis, salads, tacos and even crawfish sausage on the cheap. BYWATER— The Cheezy Cajun, a new Cajun eatery/butcher/take out spot from the duo behind Mona Lisa pizzeria in the Quarter, is now open on St. Claude Ave.  Rene Bistrot/Cochon Butcher alum Maryjane Rosas offers sandwiches, entrees, and more menu items, alongside a cocktail program from Felipe's alum PJ Hanne. Meats, cheese, fried-to-order cracklins are all available, and brunch is to come.
