As is the tradition at Eater, our closeout of the year is a survey of friends, industry types, and bloggers. We've already covered the best standbys and newcomers. Now it's time for 2015 in one word.

Q: Describe the 2015 New Orleans restaurant scene in one word.

Rene Louapre, cofounder of Hogs For The Cause
Humming.

Lorin Gaudin, Nola Food Goddess, food editor of Where
Over-saturated.

Kim Ranjbar, writer, Suck The Heads
Downtown. With the opening of the "South Market District" and other multi-purpose buildings in the downtown area, it seemed like the whole city's focus was there. New spots like Willa Jean, Blaze and Compère Lapin plus Uptown "mirrors" like CoBu2 (Company Burger), Balise (La Petite Grocery), Chef Lopez's Part & Parcel (still coming) and Magasin (still coming).

Scott Gold, author of The Shameless Carnivore, writer/contributor for Thrillist, NolaVie, and Louisiana Eats!
Exhilarating.

B.E. Mintz, founder and editor of Nola Defender
Saturated. (Did I say that? Maybe, I meant "saturated fat.")

Josh Brasted, photographer
Overwhelming.

Nora McGunnigle, beer writer and contributor for Eater NOLA and Gambit
Regenerative.

Gwendolyn Knapp, editor, Eater NOLA
Excessive.
