QUARTER— Ian McNutly reports that the big, new Killer Po' Boys is awaiting final inspections and could open this week in the former Nosh space at 219 Dauphine. Fine dining expats Cam Boudreaux and April Bellow and partner/former R'evolution sous Eric Baucom bring an expanded menu of signature new school po' boys, all-day breakfast po' boys, and insane sandwiches— pork belly, eggs, and spicy cane syrup on bread pudding 'bun,' anyone?— to the new venture. Breakfast service, pop-up dinners, and wine/beer are all in the works as well. The Killer Po' Boys counter inside of the Erin Rose will also remain open. [Advocate]

CENTRAL CITY— Highly-anticipated but seemingly-stalled money pit Jack & Jake's Public Market is reportedly now open in a 'sneak preview' mode at 1307 O.C. Haley Blvd. with coffee/sandwiches/pastries available during the morning and afternoon. You apparently have to enter through the back doors via the parking lot to get in. Eater has reached out to Jack & Jake's about its projected opening and is awaiting response at this time. [Facebook]
