2016 just keeps heating up with anticipated openings. Todd Price is now reporting that longtime taco truck favorite Taceaux Loceaux is opening a brick-and-mortar in the Lower Garden District in Spring. Owners Alex and Maribeth del Castillo will bring their signature tacos to the new restaurant, alongside meats roasted on wood-fired grill, vegetarian/vegan items, and a full bar.
The large space—located off Tchoup at 627 Celeste Street— will have a 'Mexican beer garden' feel and parking. No word on if the truck, which has been a popular Uptown bar fixture since 2010 and even appeared on Anthony Bourdain's The Layover in 2013, will still hit the streets or cater parties once the restaurant opens.
