CBD— Todd Price reports that Michael Brewer, current reigning King of Louisiana seafood and former owner of sadly-shuttered The Sammich, has just stepped into a new role as chef at Manning's.  Brewer plans to upgrade the menu of elevated bar food, and may bring over some of his signature sandwiches. METAIRIE— Helen Freund reports that Hummus & More, a new restaurant from Byblos alum Lisa Labit and Huda Aldisi, is now open in the former Mr. Gyros space at 3363 Severn Ave. with kebabs, gyros, and more. Plus, seating for 80 and a full bar.  [Gambit]
