Cam Boudreaux's Killer Poboys popup in the Erin Rose has been a casual French Quarter poboy standard for several years now - and now it is growing legs of its own. Boudreaux and wife April Bellow—along with partner/R'evolution alum Eric Baucom— have opened a standalone restaurant around the corner from the Erin Rose at 2019 Dauphine Street (between Iberville and Bienville).
"Big" Killer PoBoys opened earlier this month, and offers breakfast as well as lunch, and has a completely different menu than the "Little" Killer Poboys Erin Rose outpost (which will remain open and operational). For now, Big Killer Poboys is only open Thursday through Saturday, 8am-3pm.
With the new space Boudreaux tells Eater that his team of eight people are now able to do all the prep for both locations in one spot, and to host special events. The space is designed to suit visiting chefs and pop ups with a large prep area and storage on wheels that opens up the dining area.
Killer Poboys will host its first dinner pop up when former St. Lawrence chef Caleb Cook brings his San Francisco-based Marigny Social Club to the space on December 23 for an indulgent Reveillon, including drinks by Rhiannon Enlil (info and tix here).
