Opening Alert: Cowbell Expansion Truck Farm Tavern Debuts In St. Rose

Barbecue, booze, and roadhouse vibes 20 minutes outside of New Orleans.

Road trip alert: Ian McNulty reports that owners of Oak Street burger fave Cowbell Brack and Krista May have officially opened the doors to their new expansion Truck Farm Tavern in St. Rose. The new restaurant is located in former longtime home of St. Rose Tavern (now open in New Sarpy) about 20 minutes drive from Nola, and features loads of comfort food including a stacked menu of booze, beer and wine, small plates, sandwiches and barbecue from the smoker:

Look for ribs and smoked pork poutine, BBQ mussels, and shrimp and grits with rabbit sausage, along with grilled tuna muffulettas, turkey neck gumbo, steaks and, naturally, a burger.

A roadhouse revamp has beautified the tavern with tons of art, decor including batture driftwood and aged pickup tailgates, a huge bar, private wine room, two kitchens and even a courtyard.

Updated Hours: Tues-Thurs, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Expanded hours and brunch to come. Phone: (504) 699-0099.
