Take a look inside Uptown's brand new stunner, Kenton's, the New Orleans expansion from owners Sean Josephs and Mani Dawes of NYC's bourbon-hotspot Maysville. Chef Kyle Knall—an Alabama native and alum of Maysville and Gramery Tavern—brought down much of his kitchen crew from NYC, turning out charred/smoked/grilled American food with a Southern twist. Perfect for pairing with the 150+ bottles of whiskey (including some Pappy).
Dawes is actually a New Orleans native, and her mother, artist Nancy Dawes, has created the sweeping mural of the Mississippi that separates the bar from the main dining area. Dark green booths, bold blue accents, and throwback light fixtures give the restaurant a fresh Uptown sensibility, but the bar features the same marble used at sister restaurant Maysville, harkening back to New York. Two televisions hide behind classy mirrored glass, a brass oyster bar overlooks Magazine, and huge windows offer perfect for your impending lunch selfie.
