Behold Brett Anderson's Restaurant 'Critic's Picks'

From Shaya to Patois, 78 hot spots make the cut.

As part of The Times-Pic's annual Fall Dining Guide,  critic Brett Anderson has already named his Top Five New Restaurants and 10 Best Restaurants in New Orleans, while fellow food writer Todd Price also revealed the new Chefs To Watch.

New to the guide this year, Anderson debuts his Critic's Picks for the best local restaurants in a slew of categories from Italian to Vietnamese, all of which will reportedly be updated on the regular, especially as restaurants experience chef shuffles, shutters and switcheroos : "At any given time, the list could grow or shrink, but the list will provide my best effort to tell you the best places to eat in real time."

The Critic's Picks are divided into 20+ categories, with 78 restaurants making the cut including newcomers 1000 Figs, Paladar 511, Shaya, Balise, Compere Lapin, Primitivo, Red's Chinese, Angeline and Ox Lot 9.
