MID CITY— Bevi Seafood Co. opens its highly-anticipated second location at Carrollton and Bienville today, Todd Price reports. Located in the former Cajun Brothers Seafood, chef/owner Justin LeBlanc will serve "shrimp po-boys, shrimp remoulade and fried green tomato po-boys and a soft-shell crab platter with sides like fries, Creole cole slaw and stuffed artichokes." There will also be a strong boiled seafood game, with extended hours during crawfish season, and raw seafood for take home. Status: Certified open as of October 2 at 236 N. CENTRAL CITY— Tonight is the night that hot new nightlife hub Black Label Icehouse officially debuts in Central City with pitmaster Damian Brugger's Texas-style barbecue, booze, a pool room, HD televisions for games, and live music all on tap. The grand opening weekend kicks off at 8 p.m. with a free rock n roll show, drink specials, and meats by the pound for purchase. Status: Certified open October 2 at 3000 Dryades St. (504) 400-0837. BYWATER— Today also marks the official opening of salumiere Kristopher Doll's Shank Charcuterie, according to Helen Freund. Located across from St. Roch Market (where Doll also runs a stall), the new spot will offer a daily selection of breakfast and lunch options at a 20-foot lunch counter, plus cuts of cured meats for take home.
