Louis Lipps' beloved former seafood shack The Crab Trap, which was destroyed by Isaac in 2012, is now officially open in its new incarnation (across the street from the original) on the Frenier Lakefront, Ian McNulty reports. The larger two-story operation features a bottom floor boil shack where Lipps turns out his killer crabs and shrimp, and an upstairs restaurant where owners Jason and Jenni Bourg offer po' boys, fried and boiled seafood and more casual fare. No booze as of yet. Status: Certified open for lunch and dinner Thurs-Sun 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 105 Gary Rd. in LaPlace. (985) 224-2000.
