We've Got Soul Pops Up in Carrollton Station; Avery's Does Dinner

CARROLLTON— Beloved soul food pop up We've Got Soul opens full time at Carrollton Station tomorrow, October 2. Tres Barnard will cook up his downhome wonders—bbq nachos, mushroom grits, leg of lamb, and more—this Friday and Saturday, and every following Thursday-Sunday. [EaterWire]

NOLA— Todd Price reports that Cochon Butcher brand bacon, tasso, andouille and smoked sausages will land in area grocery stores by late October. The meats are made in collaboration with The Fatback Pig Project, an Alabama-based slaughter house that supports farmers who raise heritage breeds. [NOLA.com]

MID CITY— Helen Freund reports that Tulane Avenue po boy fave Avery's will expand with dinner service starting tomorrow, October 2. Appetizers and entrees—including turtle soup, stuffed mirliton, paneed Gulf fish with crab meat, and more— will be added to the menu of sandwiches, seafood and salads, and there's a full bar.
