In honor of the Battle of New Orleans Bicentennial in Chalmette, the good folks at the Times-Picayune/NOLA.com have put together a list of area dining destinations. Chalmette institution Rocky and Carlo's (mmm, mac & cheese) is included of course, along with newer institutions like Crave, a "casual, friendly, funky" Southwest Asian-Cajun fusion restaurant in Meraux, whose cooking, according to Todd Price, "doesn't just fly, it soars."
Check out the scoop on MeMe's Bar & Grille in Chalmette as well as Stella Maris Cafe & Grocery and Old Arabi Eats, both in Arabi. Also included are several local recommendations.
