Gearing Up For Antoine's 175th Anniverary; Vega Tapas Switcheroo

QUARTER: Todd Price reports that Antoine's is bringing back traditional dishes like lobster thermidor and duck paradis as part of their 175th anniversary celebration this year: "Throughout 2015, guests can order a special five-course classic menu that serves up an edible history of this grande dame of French Creole dining" for $68-$75/person. QUARTER: Ian McNulty also notes that Antoine's is rolling out a totally redesigned menu this week "featuring a handful of new dishes, with signature drinks and an overall new look intended to be more user-friendly."  [Advocate]

OLD METAIRIE: Vegas Tapas (2051 Metairie Rd.) has a new owner, Greg Fancis, who helped develop Kingfish and Broussard's with Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts, and longtime sous Will Sampson is now head chef. Former owner Glen Hogh is now focusing solely on his catering biz.  [NOLA.com]
