Metairie-based home of American comfort food and craft cocktails Legacy Kitchen is expanding to 700 Tchoupitoulas (at Girod) in early Spring 2015 from the NOHSC Restaurant Group (also owners of New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Co. and New Orleans Coffee & Beignet Co). Expect breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily with a menu much the same as the flagship, which indeed has turned a former Shoney's into a popular destination for almost two years now, including fried chicken and waffles and a lobster roll. The bar will be open daily until midnight, with classic drinks and a special bar menu including a duck grilled cheese.
Managing Partner Paul McGoey discloses the vibe, via press release: "From the hand-crafted, classic cocktails to even having a live DJ spinning music by classic American artists in the restaurant, it's definitely a place to have a good time and enjoy great food and music."
Also of note: New Orleans Coffee & Beignet Co. will open in the space next door, "offering both traditional and chocolate beignets along with a wide variety of coffees, breakfast items and sweet treats."
