Chateau Du Lac Warehouse Bistro, Ice Cream 504 Open

Jacques Saleun's highly-anticipated expansion Chateau Du Lac Warehouse Bistro is now open in the former La Boca space (857 Fulton Street) in the Warehouse District. Todd Price reports that initial hours are 5 to 10 p.m. daily with a limited menu available. Weekday lunch launches on September 18 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., with dinner menu expansion to follow.

Freret has just gotten a little sweeter with small batch ice cream now available via Ice Cream 504. The shop, operated by Michael Southall and biz partner James Comeau, is actually located right off Freret in a little house at 2511 Jena. 10-16 flavors available (no gum/preservatives used), with Todd Price giving a thumbs up to the "light and fresh" options including peach and blueberry basil. Hours: Wed-Thurs, noon to 8:30 p.m. Fri-Sat, noon to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, 1:30 to 8:30 p.m. [CLOSED Mondays and Tuesdays].
