District Donuts Team Takes Over Velvet Espresso Space

District Hand Pies and Coffee will take over the tiny coffee shop formerly occupied by third-wave pioneers Velvet Espresso this November, Todd Price reports.  The new expansion from the District Donuts crew won't feature donuts at all, but will crank out sweet and savory handmade pies, turnovers and lots of coffee.

District is also launching a food truck in October, brining their signature donuts, sliders, fries, and coffee to the streets for breakfast/lunch/dinner with proceeds benefitting nonprofit CrossroadsNOLA.
