Chef Miles Prescott and co-owner Nick Bazan of former ceviche powerhouse RioMar, have quietly opened their highly-anticipated new taco shop Tacos & Tequila in the space at 800 S. Peters, a call to the restaurant confirms. Hours are Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 11 a.m. until.
The bar has some 70+ selections of tequila and rum, and the food menu features tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, ceviche and more. There are about 10-12 choices of meat, from carne asada to carnitas, and a cold bar, where you can fix your taco to your own liking with lots of specialty salsas, guacamole, and all the trimmings. Tacos are running $2.50/each, and the name of the game here is quick, casual, and easy taqueria fare.
