On Saturday night, Lucky Rooster shuttered for good in the CBD. The Asian street food restaurant from the Juan's team opened in June 2013, and was a favorite for chef Neil Swidler's Korean Fried Chicken, bao, and more.
On Sunday, Juan's Flying Burrito stepped in with a pop up during the Saints game, and Todd Price reports that the restaurant will officially reopen as another Juan's location this Thursday, September 25. With Johnny Sanchez, the upcoming taqueria from John Besh and Aaron Sanchez, also slated to open in the former Ste. Marie location around the corner in October, this is starting to shape into the Central Burrito District.
But have no fear, Lucky Rooster fans, co-owner Jay Morris tells The Time-Pic they are hoping to reshape the concept into a food truck.
