The Sitch: This non-profit cafe/kitchen, which helps at-risk youth learn culinary/life skills and produces around 4,000 school lunches a day for local students, just celebrated their grand opening on Tuesday, and the cafe is dressed to impress (slideshow here) . In the mornings, you'll find Starbucks and pastries. Lunch includes the elusive MVBurger. Plus, every time you eat here, you're supporting a great cause and the future of New Orleans.

UPTOWN: Snooty Cooter
Address: 509 S. Carrollton (in Cooter Brown's)
The Sitch: Cooter Brown's back bar puts on the ritz with the official launch of Snooty Cooter this weekend, August 30, but a more hush hush reveal this evening at 5 p.m.. The new bar will feature 20-24 craft beers on draft as well as bottled and canned options, and sampling flights. Check out their booze list, why don't you.
