Reviews for Treo, Marcello's; T-Fitz Keeps Cool in August

This week Sarah Baird deems Treo the trailblazer of Tulane Avenue: "It is first and foremost a cocktail bar where chef James Cullen takes the small plate concept employed at places like Mimi's in the Marigny and Bacchanal to a new level of intricacy… Treo also is one of the only spots in the city to serve Scotch eggs (one of the finest drunk foods ever crafted) which are prepared in the traditional style." Ian McNulty reviews Warehouse District expansion Marcello's Restaurant & Wine Bar this week: "Chef Jason Lambert runs the kitchen, executing a menu from Blakely Kymen, executive chef for both restaurants. They make room for a few contemporary turns... But the heart and soul of the menu, and evidently the stuff that's kept the dining room busy from the start, are old family recipes for straightforward Sicilian classics." That, and a wine selection 600 labels deep. [Advocate]

Tom Fitzmorris picks his top 10 COOLinary menus this week, based on "sheer deliciousness, with a minor consideration for culinary and neighborhood variety:" Pelican Club, GW Fins, Brigtsen's, and more make the cut. [CityBusiness, sub req]
