Samantha Marrone takes a look at We've Got Soul this week, the beloved Marigny pop up which has just returned to New Orleans after chef Tres Barnard completed a recent cooking stint in DC. As Marie's apparently continues to navigate the permit-infested waters of kitchen renovation they'd intended for Barnard, We've Got Soul now popping up in Jim's (3000 Royal). This Saturday, August 16, there will be a special We've Got Soul pop-up/open studio event from 6 to 10 p.m., so you can browse the art at the gallery upstairs and get a bite to eat. Always on the menu: "soul food from the Mississippi Delta area."
Tallulah's, maker of eclectic comfort food, is now open in Lava's Supermarket (1410 N. Broad).Serving breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and lunch/dinner from 12 to 8 p.m., all menu items are under $7. Tallulah's was formerly located at the PNT on St Claude.
